Greater Victoria received the star treatment this month on the seventh season of the PBS series, Samantha Brown’s Places to Love.

The show was broadcast on PBS across the United States and feed into Canadian homes online at pbs.org on Jan 21.

In the summer of 2023, Brown visited various local restaurants, bars and tourist hotspots, including The Puzzle Lab, Chinatown and the Canadian Chinese Museum, and The Butchart Gardens. She also enjoyed whale watching with Eagle Wing Tours, a Pedaler Bike Tour and Sunset Sips at the Fairmont Empress Hotel.

Brown has trekked the globe for 25 years, experiencing different cultures and exploring the little-known spots where business owners create a brand new travel experience.

While in Victoria, Brown stayed at the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour and experienced various weather conditions.

Platforms such as Samantha Brown’s Places to Love are great ways to show off Greater Victoria’s tourism operators rebound after the financial devastation of COVID-19, said Paul Nursey, CEO of Destination Greater Victoria.
