No matter where he started the game, junior football veteran Hunter Lake would almost be assured of touching the ball with the Westshore Rebels.
The receiver and returns man, who quarterbacked his team as the third option on a number of occasions, including their final B.C. Football Conference game Oct. 3 at Westhills Stadium, gained two honours last week.
Lake’s 256-yard passing performance in a 35-23 loss to Langley, which included three touchdown tosses, as well as 44 yards rushing, earned him B.C. Lions offensive player of the week for the BCFC.
Later in the week he wound up his junior career by being named to the league’s offensive all-star team.
“I wouldn’t say as much I earned it as the team around me has, but I have to say it’s an honour to be considered in the same category as the amazing athletes that have received these awards in the past,” Lake said in a release.
