Pacific FC’s season-opening game against Vancouver FC has been pushed back a day to April 15, kicking off at 4 p.m.
The change was made to allow Vancouver fans to make it to the game.
“This is a call to our fans that we want to pack Starlight Stadium on April 15 and show Vancouver FC what Island pride means as we defend our house,” Paul Beirne, managing director of Pacific FC, said in a statement. “This will be Vancouver FC’s first-ever match and the beginning of a B.C. rivalry that stands to make history in our province.”
The league’s latest expansion team Vancouver FC has plucked several familiar faces from PFC, including stalwart goalkeeper Callum Irving, goalkeeping coach Mark Village and former chief executive officer Rob Friend.
PFC will be out at Starlight Stadium again on April. 23 as they face Cavalry FC.
