Hockey Wolves avenge home loss to Generals

Wolves thum Oceanside in VIJHL action

The Westshore Wolves were anything but hospitable guests last Saturday in Parksville. The visitors outshot Oceanside 53-19 in a 6-3 Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League victory. The Generals held Westshore to a 2-2 tie after two periods. Nathan Gelsinger had two goals and five points, while Brandon Tangney added a pair of goals and Cory Hatcher had three points to lead the Wolves’ attack. The win was sweet revenge for the Wolves, who lost 5-4 in overtime to the Generals at The Q Centre on Nov. 25. Matteo Gimo had two goals and Jonah Philip three assists to lead the Wolves. Westshore (14-9-0-3, second in South Division) hosts the Comox Valley Glacier Kings in Colwood tonight (Dec. 2) at 7 p.m. then faces the first-place Victoria Cougars in Esquimalt on Thursday. editor@goldstreamgazette.com
