HarbourCats host West Shore baseball training

Opportunities to get an early start on season available

It’s starting to feel more like spring on the West Shore and a series of upcoming workouts is sure to give local youth baseball players an added dose of spring fever.

The Victoria HarbourCats of the West Coast League are offering baseball camps out of the West Shore Training Academy beginning this weekend and continuing with Mar. 11, 12, 25 and 26 dates to get young ball players ready for the upcoming season.

HarbourCats personnel – including MLB scout Jim Swanson, ‘Cats assistants Andrew Wilson and Troy Birtwistle, and ‘Cats general manager Brad Norris-Jones – will be conducting the camps.

Registration is $20 per session.

Saturday sessions run from 3 to 5 p.m while Sunday sessions go from 6 to 8 p.m.

Norris-Jones will also be on hand to conduct individual or group sessions on selected weeknights.
