FISHING ADVENTURES: Fishing in Sooke remains hot

Fishing in Sooke has been picking up steadily for the past three weeks.

There continues to be more and larger winter chinooks closer to the Sooke Harbour mouth with every report and on our own trips.

The best fishing in our area appears to be at the Bluffs and Otter Point, but, of course, that could change by next week. These chinooks look to have been feeding well as they are round and fat, some up to 10 or 12 pounds.

Crabbing also continues to be good in the harbour, with some nice large Dungeness crab males coming in.
