Goddess Run features a weekend full of activities

There’s still time to sign up for the fourth annual Victoria Goddess Run, the West Shore’s very own celebration of active women.

The event, scheduled for the weekend of June 5 to 7, kicks off on the Friday with a Women’s Expo and race package pickup at the Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Spa happening from at noon until 7 p.m.

A special sunset yoga class with Moksha Yoga goes from 7 to 8 p.m. on site.

Saturday at Bear Mountain sees a breakfast event from 8 to 9:30 a.m. with motivational speakers, and the continuation of the expo.

A fun three-kilometre bathrobe walk/run happens at 11 a.m., then from 5 to 8 p.m., popular rock band 54/40 performs, supported by opening act Daniel Lapp. Tickets are $30.

On Sunday, June 7, runners and walkers will pound the pavement in Langford starting from Westhills Stadium, at 5K, 10K and half marathon (21K) distances.

More than $100,000 has been raised to date by the event, with funds going to the Victoria Women’s Transition House, Victoria Sexual Assault Centre and Kidsport – Active Girls Program.
