Busy week in store at Western Speedway

Langford facility features Hornets, Touch a Truck, fan appreciation night

Summer is the busiest time of year for the folks at Western Speedway, and this week is a good example of that.

There’s plenty of racing action to check out, from tomorrow night’s (Aug. 5) Hornets class to Saturday’s fan appreciation night card with Island Series stock cars, mini stocks, Old-Time Racers Association, dwarf cars and bombers in the mix. Fans get in free on Saturday, courtesy Seawings Express.

Saturday also sees the popular Touch a Truck fundraiser event, benefitting the Southern Vancouver Island Family Child Care Association. Kids of all ages are invited to come and check out the big rigs and industrial vehicles up close and personal from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission fees apply.

Sunday sees the Victoria Motor Sports Club on the track starting around 2 p.m. Next Monday at 6 p.m., Victoria Karting takes over the track.
