Boys of summer kick off junior baseball season

Victoria's Mariners and Eagles go head to head in Premier League action

The Victoria Junior Mariners started off their season on the right foot with a 2-0 record, taking their opening two-game series against the Victoria Junior Eagles, taking 5-3 and 9-8 victories to start the British Columbia Premier Baseball League season. Jon Gale led the way with a .400 batting average, two hits and three RBI.

While the Mariners started off undefeated, the Junior Eagles look for their first victory despite the strong hitting of Ben Mulchinock, Andy Weir and Matt Collett, who combined for 11 hits. Both teams face the Coquitlam Redlegs with two-game sets.
