I agree that it might be worthwhile to have one provider for garbage pickup.
However, I’d like to know if the cost through taxes would be the same as, or less than, what I am currently paying.
With the amount of recycling and composting that I do, I’m left with only one bag of garbage every six to eight weeks. Therefore, at the moment, it makes more sense for me to pay for the bag at the dump, rather than have someone else pick it up.
If the cost through taxes were higher, then I’d have no ability to opt out, as I do now.
