Safety first on Goose reader implores users

One Colwood resident urges trail users to be extra cautious at night

Re: Cost of lighting Goose trail, risk factors food for thought (Letters, March 24)

Ken Levert has made the best sense yet on this subject. If you choose to do activities at night alone you are subject to dangers. I feel sorry that this woman and the other one were attacked, but I would not have put myself in this situation. I walk this area of the Goose a lot, but would never even consider it at night.

Walking at night is a high risk activity for men or women. Times have changed and we need to make safe choices and going out alone at night especially in secluded areas. Please choose to go out in pairs or in daylight, live to see another day unharmed.

I do not think extra expense for lighting is needed. People need to use their heads about what they are doing and where they are doing it. Think safety first.
