Beef up UN armed forces to aid rebels

I’ve been watching the uprising and mess in Libya and other neighbouring countries.

Despite the feelings of those watching such an unreasonable loss of life, these fearful matters occur in sovereign countries where outsiders are not supposed to intrude.

Would Canada or the United States permit outsiders to interfere with things going on here in North America? And, sanctions only appear to hurt the little folk.

It seems to me that what we need to deal with such human disasters (and dispose of oppressive dictators and despots) is a beefed up and meaningful United Nations (not just talk) with an armed force, made up of troops from allies and others, mandated with UN blessing for an intrusion, to go in and clean up the situation and save lives, sooner than later.
