A business friendly environment is crucial for our economy

One reader urges voters to think of the bigger picture when casting their ballots

Every province’s economy in a fragile thing. It is extremely difficult to cultivate private sector jobs, those that we depend upon to grow our economy. A government that hires more civil servants may make the employment numbers look better temporarily, but increases government spending, which is not helpful in the long run to businesses and other taxpayers.

We need to maintain a provincial government in B.C. which recognizes that a business friendly environment is crucial for our economy.

The NDP has never been business friendly. Quite the opposite. The last NDP government in B.C. instituted policies that drove away businesses by the truckload, and hurt B.C. badly. The Green Party also, is not concerned about a good business environment, and has an agenda that would turn our economy upside down by trying to rapidly phase out fossil fuel use, and severely restrict mining activity, all the while increasing government spending.

Please think carefully as you cast your vote in this provincial election. We have the healthiest provincial economy in Canada. Not by accident, by good governing.
