Royal Roads University and CUPE Local 3886 have come to a four-year agreement.
“Our CUPE staff are integral to providing the services and support for Royal Roads to be able to deliver the quality of experience our students expect. I am delighted that we have succeeded in reaching an agreement without any disruption of work or services to our students,” said Allan Cahoon, RRU president and vice chancellor, in a statement.
The collective was made with about 70 CUPE members working in positions spanning from the gardens to trades.
In the agreement the employees will have a two year wage freeze and then a two per cent pay raise in the third and fourth year.
John Yap, Minister of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology announced the deal Oct. 31.
“These agreements show that the Cooperative Gains Mandate is working and savings can be found within existing budgets to fund modest wage increases,” said Yap.
