Police are investigating sexual touching incident at Langford Lake

Witnesses are asked to contact the West Shore detachment

West Shore RCMP are looking for any witnesses that may have seen the suspect involved in a sexual assault at Langford Lake on Monday night.

The local detachment received a report that a woman was jogging on a trail at Langford Lake at around 7:30 p.m. on July 11 when she was passed by a man on a bicycle on three occasions. The man approached the woman, asking her for the time. She told him the time and kept walking. On the third pass the suspect slapped the woman's buttocks before leaving the area.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man about six feet tall between the ages of 20 and 25. He has a larger build and was wearing a worn out green t-shirt, basketball shorts and had dark buzz cut hair.

The woman was not physically injured as a result of the assault.

“We are looking for anyone who may have witnessed this man on the trails at that time," said Const. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson of the West Shore RCMP in a release. “We encourage trail users to be vigilant of their surroundings, to carry a cellphone and to report any incidents right away.”
