Colwood fills top jobs at City Hall

Both newcomers to start in directors’ position next month

The City of Colwood has announced two hirings that will fill key positions in leadership roles at City Hall.

Nikki Hoglund will take over as director of engineering and public works on March 20, while Brent Molnar will step in as manager of development services, beginning on March 27.

Hoglund currently serves as director of engineering and operations for the District of Sechelt, and previously worked for the Village of Lions Bay, the City of North Vancouver and the City of Richmond.

She has also worked in the private sector for companies in Australia, New Zealand and Peru.

Molnar has been municipal approving officer and manager of land development for the City of Langford since 2007. He has taken on roles of increasing responsibility since starting at Langford in 2001, and worked previous to that in the private sector.

Colwood chief administrative officer Ian Howat said Hoglund and Molnar bring a combination of project management and operational experience to the city.

“That will help drive Colwood’s success in meeting the increasingly complex and sophisticated demands of a growing community,” Howat said in a media release.

The position of director of engineering has been vacant since the fall of 2016.
