Christie Point residents to have say at council meeting

View Royal council accepts residents' request for presentation on redevelopment plans

Residents of the Christie Point Apartments community on Craigowan Road in View Royal will be among those speaking to council this Tuesday (Jan. 17) regarding the proposed redevelopment plans for the 15.8-acre rental property.

The development proposal submitted to the Town of View Royal last month by Christie Point property owner and rental operator Realstar is not expected to come before council until this spring at the earliest. However, affected residents, including those currently living at Christie Point and those in the immediate area around Portage Inlet, have been invited to address council directly with their concerns about the Realstar plan.

A delegation from a group known as Christie Point Advocates will make a presentation to council just after the start of the meeting. Immediately following, individuals will be invited to speak about their concerns or ask related questions of councillors, as a way for council members to better understand the key issues around the project.

The meeting gets underway at 7 p.m. sharp at the town hall, 45 View Royal Ave. Limited parking is available behind the hall.
