Better Business Bureau of Vancouver Island is warning that consumers are reporting deceptive and misleading sales practices related to a device known as a “power saver device.”

Consumers are reporting unsolicited phone calls offering a $150 device that could reduce hydro consumption by 25 to 50 per cent.

Numerous consumers allege that some power saver devices do not work, the BBB says.

The BBB recommends always checking a company’s BBB review at www.vi.bbb.org (locally) or www.bbb.org (internationally) before making any purchase.
