Attempted murder charges follow View Royal stabbing

Sunday morning incident leaves one man in hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries

A 53-year-old man is due in Western Communities Provincial Court tomorrow (Nov. 25), charged with attempted murder after an early Sunday morning incident in View Royal.

West Shore RCMP received a call shortly before 4 a.m. that a man was suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers from the RCMP and Victoria police found the victim, a 34-year-old man, at a gas station in View Royal.

The stricken man was able to give police the location where the incident occurred, a residence in the 1400-block of Admirals Rd., and officers arrested the suspect shortly afterward.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, according to West Shore RCMP. The two men are known to each other.

The accused was to remain in custody at least until his court appearance (after the Gazette deadline).
