The 13th annual Paul Valentine Memorial three-on-three memorial basketball tournament is this weekend.

Games run July 7 and 8 at the Paul Valentine basketball courts near the lower fields at West Shore Parks and Recreation  (1767 Island Hwy.).

Games start at 10 a.m. both days. A barbecue will also be held throughout the day.

“It’s good basketball to watch and good food to eat,” said Dave Valentine, Paul’s father.

Paul Valentine was murdered 14 years ago during an unprovoked attack. All the money raised from the tournament will be put back in the community through basketball initiatives or to programs focusing on youth violence.
