Starr Cummings at Black Rose Beauty Salon offers services that give your body a boost and activate the lymphatic system. From Brazilian Butt Lifts to Back Contouring, her treatments are noninvasive and help with whole body health.

Toned, energetic and cleansed: One session is equivalent to 1800 squats

Nutrition and exercise are important, but sometimes we need help to achieve whole body health

It’s a lot of work to stay healthy! A balanced diet and exercise can take your body a long way, but sometimes it’s nice to get a boost.

Our bodies adapt through some pretty miraculous events — pregnancy and childbirth, menopause and changing hormones, weight gain and loss, work injuries and more — so sometimes it takes more than a healthy meal and a trip to the gym to get back on track.

“I offer holistic, noninvasive services to help clients reach their body goals,” says Starr Cummings of Black Rose Beauty Salon in Langford. “It’s not just aesthetic, although that’s certainly one benefit. I activate the lymphatic system, which can improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, increase energy levels, and can help to alleviate chronic pain.”

Men and women of all ages find lasting success

Black Rose Beauty Salon offers many services, but one of its most popular is the Brazilian Butt Lift. What will happen in your first appointment? It starts with a manual massage which prepares the skin for the procedure. Then the salon clinician applies cupping technology which uses vibration, suction, electro-muscular stimulation and infrared light to stimulate your muscles, drawing blood to the area and activating your lymphatic system from head to toe.

“Black Rose Beauty is one of only two salons on the west coast to use this noninvasive procedure. It was developed in Colombia, and we’re also certified educators who can train others,” Cummings says.

One session is equivalent to 1800 squats, and lasts about 90 minutes. You may feel sore as if you’ve been to the gym, or notice some bruising, but those symptoms should disappear in about a day and the beneficial results are immediate. For a Brazilian Butt Lift, Cummings typically recommends six sessions about 48 hours apart to achieve lasting results.

The treatments at Black Rose Beauty Salon can help adults of all ages and genders, and it’s not just about aesthetic changes. Strengthening muscles and activating the lymphatic system can help with whole body wellness.

“I’ve worked with women in their 70s and male construction workers with bad lumbar (lower back) pain, as well as mothers and first responders,” Cummings says. “Lymphatic drainage really helps flush your body’s system of toxins, and improve muscle strength. One client came to me after three back surgeries, and lymphatic drainage really helped.”
