Pacific FC wants to turn Starlight Stadium in Langford into a fortress for the match against York United on Saturday, May 4.

“We want this stadium to be full, match in and match out,” said James Merriman, Pacific FC head coach.

The team has not conceded a single goal this season and remains undefeated, with a solo draw coming against Calgary on April 28.

“The team and the defenders especially take a lot of pride in it and work incredibly hard on it,” Merriman said.

Pacific FC has kept a clean sheet despite switching between goalies after Emil Gazdov went down with illness and Sean Melvin had to step up.

“He steps in against Calgary and I thought he was excellent” Merriman said. “And then again, against TSS.”

An exciting victory against the Richmond-based TSS FC Rovers will not distract the team and has all eyes fixed on the game against York.

“Everyone has been very humbled,” Merriman said. “We know we have work to do.”

While the team has kept a clean sheet, they have managed to score three goals, something that the head coach would like the team to build on.

“It’s still very early in the season, we need to keep progressing, adding things to our game,” Merriman said.
