VIHA offering grants for food security

The Vancouver Island Health Authority is looking for organizations that can promote Island-wide food security issues.

The Vancouver Island Health Authority is looking for organizations that can promote Island-wide food security issues.

The request for proposals seeks groups that can raise awareness of food security, improve access to local healthy foods, promote food knowledge and skills and develop policies to support food security. Organization could receive between $5,000 and $10,000 for food security initiatives.

The health authority has given out $500,000 in the past years through its Community Food Action Initiative.
