From operating an apple press and making apple mash to sampling various productsmade with the fruit, visitors to Sunday’s Metchosin Apple Festival made their trip worthwhile.
Samples of fruit leather apple rings, freshly made applesauce and apple juice were available and made for a good break after hearing about pruning techniques or demonstrating one's skill at launching apples with a variety of trebuchets set up for public use.
Volunteers brought out three tabletop catapults and two larger ones, one of which heaved its fruity missiles all the way to Happy Valley Road.
