Slo-pitch tournament helps missing kids

Money raised will go towards printing costs for literature and the All About Me children's identification kits

Twenty-four ball teams will play at Topaz Park this weekend in the 20th annual Michael Dunahee Slo-Pitch Tournament of Hope. The event is a fundraiser for Child Find B.C., which aims to reduce numbers of missing children in the province. Money raised will go towards printing costs for literature and the All About Me children’s identification kits. An annual favourite, the tournament’s final game will end with professional skydivers. This is Child Find B.C.’s biggest fundraiser of the summer, according to president Crystal Dunahee, whose son, Michael, was four years old when he went missing from a Victoria park in 1991. The tournament runs Saturday through Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days at Topaz Park, at Finlayson and Blanshard streets.
