Sometimes the simplest of gifts can make the biggest difference.

The Baha’i community of Metchosin understands this well. That’s why for a 10th straight year, they are hosting a family friendly, community event benefiting the homeless community served by Our Place in Victoria.

This Sunday (Feb. 26) from 2 until 4 p.m., the community is encouraged to stop by Metchosin Community Hall with bath towels, soap, new socks, toothbrushes and toothpaste that will make up Bath Bundles to be delivered to Our Place for its shower program.

Since 2008, the Bath Bundles event has been supported well from Metchosin residents and individuals and families around the West Shore. Many donors stay to help assemble the bundles, enjoy the camaraderie and the entertainment, which this year is said to include multicultural dancers and a children’s choir at 2 p.m.

As in past, each bundle will include a heartfelt, handwritten card intended for the end user as a way to brighten their day. More than 50 people per day take a shower at Our Place.
