Searchers needed for giant gastropods in Langford

CRD Parks program gives one last shot at making spring break fun

This Sunday (March 22), West Shore residents are invited to watch nature’s recyclers at work in Mill Hill Park in Langford.

As part of the Capital Regional District Regional Parks and Trails Events Series, nature lovers and inquisitive minds are welcome to join the party of investigators leaving from the information kiosk in the parking lot off Atkins Road by 1 p.m. They will then head off into the park alongside a CRD naturalist to peek under fallen logs and leaves in search of giant gastropods – most know them as slugs and snails – and examine their role in our ecosystem.

As always, the exploration is free. Visit www.bit.ly/1EppNCQ for a full list of CRD Parks programs, or call them at 250-478-3344 for more information.

This event is a pet-free event, however, so participants are asked to please leave your dogs at home.
