Nominations sought for outstanding seniors

Each local seniors are celebrated for their volunteer work

Do you know an outstanding volunteer that may be reaching their senior years?

Each year, the University of Victoria Institute on Aging and Lifelong Health, formerly the Centre on Aging, celebrates local seniors with an award called the Valued Elder Recognition Award.

Now partnering with the Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation, the Institute is looking for West Shore residents to nominate deserving older citizens who have generously given 10 or more years of exceptional volunteer time to their community.

In a special twist this year, every qualified nominee will receive the award and will be honoured at an event held at the end of September.

Only one nomination is allowed per person. To learn more about the process or find out more information go to uvic.ca/aging. The deadline for nominations is July 22.
