Mother’s Day is fast approaching and just in time for the occasion, the best brunch spots in Victoria have been revealed.

It’s not hard to find brunch restaurants on a weekend morning with lineups out the door, sometimes hours long, with people eagerly awaiting their eggs benny or stacked pancakes.

OpenTable, an online restaurant-reservation service company finds that just over half of Canadians (51 per cent) plan on dining out for the occasion.

In their research, they have also unveiled Canada’s Top 100 Brunch Restaurants, which involved scanning diner metrics and more than 1.3 million diner reviews from February 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024.

British Columbia features 25 restaurants on the list, including four restaurants in Victoria:

  • Boom + Batten;
  • Glo Restaurant + Lounge;
  • Med Grill;
  • Vista 18 Restaurant + Lounge.

If you plan on taking mom out to brunch this Mother’s Day, you might want to consider making reservations first (if the restaurant takes them). According to OpenTable’s research, in 2023, 52 per cent of Mother’s Day reservations were made at least four days out, so they recommend booking before May 8 to make mom’s day extra special.

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12.
