Easter events on the West Shore

The Easter Bunny will be busy soon, leaving treats throughout the West Shore.

The City of Colwood is hosting an Easter egg hunt on April 8 with thousands of eggs up for grabs in Meadow Park. There will also be activities like a cookie decorating station and inflatables for kids to play on. The Easter egg hunt starts at 11 a.m. with activities running from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Colwood Church is hosting its second free Easter breakfast and egg hunt on Saturday (April 8) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with food, chocolate eggs, bouncy castles and games on offer. The church is at 2250 Sooke Rd.

Royal Roads is hosting an Easter egg hunt on campus for students, with students’ families also welcome. The event is on April 6 starting at noon at the Neptune Staircase. Registration is required.

In Metchosin, a weekend of activities is running at Bilston Creek Farm, including an Easter egg treasure hunt, lawn games, a kids craft corner and a “Hunt for the Golden Egg” for the chance to win a prize. The golden egg hunt is free, and the craft corner and treasure hunt cost $5 per child. The farm is located at 4185 Metchosin Rd. Events start at 10:30 a.m. on April 8 and go on through to 5 p.m. on April 9.

In Langford, the Westshore Town Centre is hosting an Easter flower pot craft workshop on April 1. Pots will be decorated with greens, blooms and a bunny. Five time slots are available between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., with a maximum of four people per group. One pot per group. Tickets are $10. The event is aimed at children two and up (with parental supervision). The workshop location is inside Westshore Town Centre near Dollarama and Westshore Dental Centre.

In Sooke, Pemberton Holmes Sooke Real Estate is hosting its third annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ed Macgregor Park on April 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first hunt time for kids up to three years, four to eight, and nine to 12 starts at 10:15 a.m., with additional hunts for the same age groups at 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
