Colwood Fire Rescue is opening its doors to the public this weekend as part of its annual open house.
Residents will get the chance to meet local firefighters and mascot Sparky the Fire Dog, ride a fire engine, try out a fire hose and extinguisher, and tour the firefighters’ museum.
There will also be children’s activities and balloons, as well as interactive equipment displays and demonstrations.
Seafirst Insurance Brokers Volunteers will be offering hot dogs by donation in support of the Colwood Volunteer Firefighters’ community initiatives. Those feeling particularly inspired by the open house can also learn how to become a volunteer firefighter.
The Colwood Fire Hall open house takes place on Sunday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fire hall (3215 Metchosin Rd.) For more information visit colwood.ca.
