Wrestling results from the under-15 tourament at Esquimalt High on Jan. 7

Long time wrestling coach Ed Ashmore of the Victoria Bulldogs organized the annual Island Under-15 wrestling tournament at Esquimalt High on Jan. 7.

Four local wrestlers finished first in their weight category, including Michael Huynh (54kg) from the Bulldogs, Nolan Mitchell (45kg) of Cowichan Wrestling (from Victoria) and Jordan Merrick (heavyweight) from Esquimalt High.

Liam Leippi of the Bullldogs finished second in the 74kg class.

Bulldogs wrestlers Taylor Ethan (48kg), Donovan Huynh (38kg) and Gurdeep Sihota (light heavyweight) and Amrit Sihota (57kg) all finished third in their respective categories.

John Fayad of the Bulldogs was fifth among the 60kg weight class and
