WATCH: Victoria Grizzlies and skating coach team up to teach kids to skate

Fun Colwood event ends with shinny

Victoria Grizzlies players and their professional skating coach, Mena Westhaver, hosted a free skate for children who have never had the opportunity to learn how.

The fun event took place late Friday morning at the Juan de Fuca Arena in Colwood.

With skates provided by West Shore Parks and Recreation, there were smiles all around. And of course, no ice time is complete without a game of shinny.

Those who attended the skate also received a family pass to the Grizzlies’ home game against the Surrey Eagles this Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.
