Victoria Royals break out the Don Cherry wear for Saturday’s ice

Prince George Cougars in town for games March 1 and 2 at Save on Foods Memorial Centre

The Victoria Royals don some Cherry wear Saturday night for a good cause. It will be the second of a home-and-home stand, March 1 and 2 at Save on Foods Memorial Centre.

Friday is golf night while Saturday the Western Hockey League team suits up à la Don Cherry to promote organ donation.

The Victoria team will wear special Don Cherry themed jerseys with their nicknames on the back. The first 1,000 fans through the door also receive bobbleheads featuring Cherry’s dog Blue. Fans can also visit the RE/MAX table at Gate 1 for a chance to win an autographed Don Cherry Bobblehead.

Starting Friday, the Cherry themed jerseys will be auctioned off via online auction at www.32auctions.com/DonCherry2019. The auction ends Monday, March 11 at 7 p.m.

The Royals hockey club sits in second in the BC Division while the Cougars hang in fifth. The puck drops at 7:05 both nights.
