Americas Rugby Championships return to Langford

The 2016 Americas Rugby Championship returns to Westhills Stadium next month with matches Feb. 6 and Feb. 20.

This week, Canada’s interim senior men’s coach Francois Ratier named the 28-man roster for the matches, with captain Hubert Buydens leading the list. A young squad boasts 14 players under 25 and 18 uncapped players.

The five-round, five-team competition runs to March 6 and also includes sides from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, USA and Uruguay.

Westhills hosts the first home game of the tournament  Feb. 6 with Canada taking on Uruguay. The second sees Canada take on 2016 Summer Olympic Games host Brazil on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Both games kickoff at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online at events.rugbycanada.ca.
