With the city junior girls basketball title in their grasp, the Royal Bay Ravens have their sights set on a Vancouver Island crown.

The Ravens, who used a tough defence to beat Claremont 51-33 last Saturday in the city final at Spectrum, open the Island tournament today (Feb. 17) in Duncan.

Royal Bay, which gained automatic entry into the provincials with a qualifying tournament win in Duncan last month, beat Stelly’s 63-42 in the city semifinal.

Lauren Awalt was named most valuable player for the city tourney for a second straight year, while teammate Hannah Cormode was named to the all-star team.
