The Victoria Grizzlies managed to do something last weekend that they hadn’t accomplished in a while this hockey season: win in Powell River.

The Grizzlies, down 3-2 in their best-of-seven B.C. Hockey League Island semifinal against the Kings, are in a must-win situation tonight when they host Powell River for Game 6 at The Q Centre (7 p.m. game time). The boys in black and gold came away from the middle three games of the playoff series with a 1-2 record, good enough to send things back to Colwood.

Sunday’s 5-1 win by Powell River came less than 24 hours after the Grizzlies hammered the Kings 6-1. Goalie Michael Stiliadis came up with a 27-save performance and six different players scored in the Victoria win.

On Friday, Powell River opened up a 5-0 lead after two periods and cruised to a 5-2 victory.

If there is a game 7 it happens Wednesday back at The Q Centre. Puck drop would be 7 p.m.
