Jenna Saulnier of Layritz Little League pitches against Kirkland during Layritz’ first game representing Canada at the Junior Softball World Series in Kirkland, Wash., on Sunday.

Saulnier had an RBI single in the top of the sixth with two outs, but Canada lost 5-3. Kirkland scored all five runs in the first inning. The tournament finishes on Saturday (Aug. 18).
