Junior Shamrocks hold on for pre-season victory

Lacrosse juniors play intermediate 'Rocks in inter-squad game tonight in Colwood

The Victoria Junior Shamrocks roared out to a 10-2 lead by the midway point of their B.C. Lacrosse Association exhibition contest with the Nanaimo Jr. Timbermen in Chemainus.

The Timbermen forced the Shamrocks onto their heels in the latter half of the game with a major push, but managed to hold on for a 14-11 victory.

The Victoria juniors are scheduled to take on their intermediate clubmates in an intersquad game tonight at The Q Centre. Admission is free for the contest, which starts around 7:15 p.m. The junior Shamrocks open their BCLA regular season on this Sunday (April 26) at 5 p.m. against the New Westminster Salmonbellies.
