Junior B Wolves crown Kings after blowout loss

Westshore club posts solid VIJHL road win in Courtenay

Three nights after a lopsided defeat at the hands of the Campbell River Storm, the Westshore Wolves managed to bounce back with a 3-2 win over the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.

The Wolves were on the wrong end of an 8-2 drubbing at The Q Centre last Wednesday (Jan. 18), but that didn’t carry into the team’s Saturday road contest in Courtenay.

Jordan Guiney got the Wolves on the board midway through the second after a scoreless first, but his goal was quickly answered by Glacier Kings forward Zachary Ahola.

The Wolves got back in front in the third with goals from Eamon Duffy and Parker Ellis, and that would prove to be enough.

Westshore will hope The Q Centre is friendlier tomorrow night (Jan. 25) when they host the Victoria Cougars at 7 p.m. The Wolves continue to sit in third place in the South Division standings behind first place Victoria and second-place Saanich.
