Grizzlies solid in BCHL exhibition games

Overtime loss to Clippers first blemish on team's pre-season record

The Victoria Grizzlies are looking pretty good on the road in the young B.C. Hockey League exhibition season.

A 5-4 overtime loss to the Nanaimo Clippers on Saturday is the lone blemish on the Grizzlies' pre-season record, following a 3-1 win in Port Alberni on Friday and a 3-2 win over Cowichan Valley last Wednesday in Duncan.

The Colwood-based team erased a 4-2 deficit against Island Division rival Nanaimo with a pair of goals in the third period to force overtime. P.J. Conlon, Kevin Massey, Storm Wahlrab and Jeffrey Baum scored in the loss.

The Grizzlies next play Cowichan Valley in Sooke this Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m. at the SEAPARC arena.
