The Victoria Grizzlies’ Alex Newhook won Rookie of the Year honours in the B.C. Hockey League.

The results were based on a poll of all of the BCHL head coaches and the decision was unanimous.

Newhook scored 22 goals and 44 assists for 66 points in 45 games played in the regular season.

The Wenatchee Wild received three trophies and one non-voting award.

The Wild’s Jasper Weatherby picked up both MVP and the top scorer awards, Cooper Zech was the Top Defenceman and Bliss Littler won coach of the year.

A voting change from last year was noted in goaltending. The award is now voted on instead of going to the goalie with the lowest goals-against average and 1,000 minutes played.

Vernon Vipers, Ty Taylor, won the top goaltender award and Prince George Spruce Kings, Ben Poisson, won most sportsmanlike.
