Velodrome valued in the community

Re: Closed JDF velodrome gets a fresh look, News, March 16, 2011.

I find this whole problem very unsettling. As a former national Paralympic cycling team member and a national champion in the track and road events, the velodrome facility has in the past not only helped myself but many others train to our utmost highest potential in the sport.

It has been a gloomy past three years not being able to train or ride on the track; even for the weeknight racing series it was a glorious place to be.

With lots of laughter and friends to be made that was the place I really loved and enjoyed going to. Even throughout a bad day I could always muster up the strength to go to the track.

I hope one day soon myself and all of my cycling community can once again enjoy our beloved track.
