Roadwork holding commuters hostage

Why is it that the municipality of View Royal can hold West Shore residents hostage as a result of a never-ending series of highway construction projects of dubious value?

Obviously, you didn’t consider the impact upon your neighbours, as we now spend up to an additional two hours a day traveling to and from work.

The inevitable amalgamation of the south Island fiefdoms can’t come soon enough for me.

Perhaps then, we’ll have a synchronized approach to traffic management and not be forced to suffer through the grandiose plans of a community flexing their casino generated, economic muscle.

I expect that when the new “Welcome to View Royal” sign is erected on Colwood property, the council will practise truth in advertising and sign will include the additional tag “West Shore commuters keep out.”

Really, how hard would have it been to schedule the current 6 Mile construction gong show during the overnight hours?

Karma will eventually have View Royal pay for the contempt shown towards the rest of us.
