Pricey deer cull makes no sense

Oak Bay's undertaking produced some expensive venison

Re: Deer cull ends in Oak Bay (goldstreamgazette.com)

So, $250,000 to kill 11 deer. Who wants to pay, let alone afford to pay, $22,730 to kill one deer? What kind of wage is this?

If the deer’s weight is, let’s say 80 kilograms, the price would be $284.12 per kg. Well, most of us can’t afford to eat venison due to the price. Who was the lucky one to get such expensive meat in Victoria?

Please, stop this nonsense. We don’t want deer killers to get rich on taxpayers’ money.
