I challenge Mathieu Powell to justify forcing others to provide for a treed “natural” park near his home, when heavily treed Cuthbert Holmes park is within easy bicycling distance of Watkiss Way (or a short bus ride), with dense forest that is not used much and is unsafe because trees hide troubled people.
Further in the other direction is the same at Thetis Lake, accessible by bus in summer, plus smaller parks in the general area.
Why not spend for neighbourhood micro-parks that young children can play in?
