In response to the letter to the editor dated July 11 (“Giving out free parking passes a poor use of CRD resources”) the Capital Regional District would like to clarify that staff did not and do not give out free passes.
Bylaw Officers do at times distribute Pet Emergency Preparedness decals to vehicles with dog carriers and did so at Thetis Lake Regional Park on July 1.
We appreciate the writer’s concern about the prudent use of government resources and can assure residents that it is our first priority.
