The recent letter calling the Royal BC Museum a monument to colonialism is a classic example of woke anti-colonial sentiment taken to the extreme and comes close to inciting violence.

Are we to assume the legislature buildings, Government House, and perhaps the Empress Hotel should be on a similar hit list, not mention schools and universities?

This theme can be applied to virtually every culture in every age, as in the disastrous Soviet effort to expunge all Russian history prior to 1917, or actions by ISIS not long ago to blow up offending historical structures. Anarchy and misery lie down that road. Our children deserve better.
