Your otherwise excellent article was overly negative in concluding “it doesn’t look like a solution to the crawl will be found and implemented any time soon.”

The article shows that Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Claire Trevena has committed to “accelerating the implementation of bus lanes along the Trans-Canada Highway to provide immediate relief.”

Construction is already underway on the Douglas Street bus lanes in Victoria and Saanich.

If Trevena follows through with the funding, the Trans-Canada Highway shoulder bus lanes to the Six Mile should be built within 24 months.

This is provincial highway so the responsibility to get it done falls solely on Trevena and her NDP cabinet colleagues.

I don’t expect dithering or delay from the NDP, and look forward to whizzing by traffic in the new bus lanes soon.
