Letter: Bullying must be stopped

I am flabbergasted that bullying is still tolerated. I cannot see what the problem is to stop this horrific, dangerous and sometimes lethal action by bullies. Lives have been lost by the lack of concern to those that are being bullied.

I am flabbergasted that bullying is still tolerated. I cannot see what the problem is to stop this horrific, dangerous and sometimes lethal action by bullies. Lives have been lost by the lack of concern to those that are being bullied.

In a school yard, if a bully is seen taking action against another child, take action. See someone and report it that this person has attacked that person and let it be known. Get the parents involved. When my child was a victim of bullying, I made sure I was at the fence at recess time for a week and made myself visible so that everyone knew I was watching. Teachers, managers, and other people who are in command must do everything to protect those that they are responsible for. This evil action (and evil it is) must be stamped out. All children must be informed to tell their parents, teachers and anybody in authority the minute bullying occurs. Then action must be taken immediately. To do less is a dereliction of duty to the most vulnerable. This problem has been going on for years, but with teachers, judges, and management who find it not worthy of their action. It will continue. This is a problem for all of us, do something.
